Grooming
|
Grooming is an important part of your dog's health, with regular brushing and combing essential in maintaining a healthy, glowing coat. It eliminates mats and tangles, removes dead hair , dirt and burrs and distributes the natural oils, producing a healthy skin tone.
Dogs who are groomed regularly tend to have a healthier and shinier coat because it stimulates the blood supply to the skin.
The length of time your dog will need to stay with us at The Groomery will vary depending on the work requested. On average dogs stay for approximately 2 hours. |

A typical groom will include:
Preliminary brush through
This removes any minor knots and tangles, burrs and debris from the coat, enables an assessment of your pets coat and skin condition
and allows a check for any external parasites
Pre-work
Where excessive matting or abundant coat is present this is pre-clipped. Nails are trimmed and ears are cleaned and gently plucked (where required).
Bathing
Bathing is the foundation of good grooming. Dogs are taken to the bath for a thorough cleanse and condition, using only premium quality products chosen specifically for your pets skin / coat condition
Drying
Patting dry with a freshly laundered towel is followed by the use of our high-velocity dryer to massage the skin and remove any additional excess water. Your pet is then dried using either our stand or cabinet dryers.
Styling
Depending on your requirements, the pet is then groomed and styled to breed standards
or an alternatively chosen style.
Not all breeds require 'the full works' and maybe just a freshen-up is all that is needed.
Do not hesitate to book just a bath & dry or mini tidy-up if that is all you require.
